Direct from Zurich to St. Moritz Schulhausplatz
Departure:
The daytrip starts at the Zurich Bus Station (next to Zurich HB) at 10:30 AM—please arrive 15 minutes early. With an estimated travel time of 3 to 3.5 hours, you will reach the center of St. Moritz between 1:30 and 2:00 PM. From there, it's just a short trip to the festival site (by railroad, approx. 5 minutes).
Return:
The bus leaves from Schulhausplatz at 2:30 AM. Allow enough time to get to the centre. There may be delays on the railroad. Please note, the bus will not wait!
Ticket:
Your ticket will be issued as a QR code, which must be presented during the trip. We look forward to welcoming you on board!
All sales are final. Tickets not included.
The Chantarella funicular operates exclusively for SunIce Festival over Easter (as the ski area is already closed) – outside the regular public transport service. Like last year, the uphill ride requires a paid ticket, which must be booked in advance at sunicefestival.ch.
The pricing is set externally, but good news: it's actually cheaper than a regular ski lift ticket. Prefer hiking? That’s totally possible too.
Starting this season, we're shifting from full hotel packages to individual hotel deals.
You will find a discount code on our website to book the corresponding stay with one of our hotel partners. It is not connected to your festival pass however, so make sure you secure yours early.
First, take the Chantarella Bahn funicular from St. Moritz Dorf to Chantarella station. The ride takes only a few minutes. Then, take one of our festival shuttles to the Festival Village or walk the remaining 10–15 minutes uphill to the Festival Village if you prefer a scenic stroll. The shuttles will be available for free during the festival hours.
Festival Experience
Ensuring a safe and enjoyable festival experience for all attendees is our top priority. Here are some important safety and security measures and services available at the festival:
Ear Protection
To protect your hearing and ensure you can enjoy the music to the fullest, ear protection will be provided at the entrance and our Info Point. We strongly encourage all attendees to make use of this, especially those planning to be near the stages for extended periods.
Theft Prevention
Your security is paramount. We remind all festival-goers to be vigilant and keep a close eye on their belongings at all times. Thieves can operate in crowded places, so please take the necessary precautions to prevent any incidents.
Drugs / Alcohol
While we want you to have an unforgettable time, safety is paramount. Our policy on drugs and alcohol is strict; we operate a zero-tolerance policy on illegal substances. Moderation is key for alcohol consumption. If you or someone you know needs assistance, our security and medical teams are always on

Yes. You can pre-book your locker here: https://booking.safecube.io/schluessfach/sunIce-festival-2025/dates
Cashless & Accreditation
When you enter, your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband or card. This wristband/card contains an RFID chip that is used for access authorisation. Access is authorised by a device, such as a smartphone or an access gate, which scans the chip and displays a confirmation or rejection on the screen.
You will receive the RFID chip at the place where you validate your festival ticket. This is at the large archway at the festival entrance.
At the Festival, your festival bracelet serves as both your entry ticket and your payment method for food, drinks, and merchandise. To add credits to your bracelet, follow these steps:
- Register Your Bracelet:
- Before the festival, create an account on https://sunicewinter.eventportal.io.
- Log in and enter the unique barcode (starting with $) found on your ticket to link it to your account. Create a wallet.
- Add Credits Online:
- Once registered, navigate to the top-up (shop) section in your account.
- Choose the amount you wish to add and complete the payment using a credit or debit card. Twint is also possible.
- Collect Your Bracelet:
- Upon arrival at the festival, present your ticket at the entrance.
- You'll receive your pre-loaded bracelet, ready for use.
- On-Site Top-Up Options:
- If you need to add more credits during the festival, visit one of our designated top-up stations near the entrance gate.
- You can add funds using credit, Twint or debit cards.
Tips:
- Register and top up your bracelet before the festival to avoid queues.
- Keep your bracelet secure; it functions as your wallet during the event.
Please make sure that:
- You are linked to the correct account.
- You have entered the correct ticket barcode in the system and entered it in the correct field.
- Letters and numbers have been entered correctly (e.g. ‘O’ with ‘0’).
- The ticket number and not the order number has been entered.
- The correct event has been selected https://eventportal.io.
- There are no spaces or hyphens in the ticket number.
Note: The ticket number is always under the barcode/QR code.
If the above tips have not solved the problem, you are welcome to contact us at any time..
You can load money onto your ticket in advance in your account in the event portal. As soon as this ticket is played on your chip (first entry), you will also receive your loaded money. So please make sure that you load your money onto the ticket that you will use first. E.g. Friday ticket or weekend pass.
The ticket with the pre-purchased products/upgrades will be transferred to your chip at the entrance.
Note: It is also possible to top up your chip with money online during the event.
Please note that this option will only be activated once you have exchanged your ticket for a chip. To link your chip correctly at the festival site, please follow the steps below:
- Go to https://eventportal.io/ and select SunIce Festival Winter.
- Click on ‘Add your chip’.
- Enter the 14-digit code on the back of your chip and complete the registration process. You can also scan the displayed QR-code.
You will now see an overview of the credit you have already topped up and the transactions you have carried out so far.
Note: Our chip numbers and PIN code on the back of your chip can only consist of numbers from 0-9 and letters from A-F.
You can top up your chip at any time on site. To avoid long queues and to be able to party straight away, top up your ticket online in advance of the event. You can also take advantage of one-off promotions.
Blocked credit, also known as ‘gift credit’, is credit that has been given as a gift and cannot be paid out. However, it can be used on site.
If this is an error, please contact us.
At the SunIce Festival you pay with your festival wristband instead of cash or card. The integrated RFID chip serves as a digital wallet.
This is how it works:
- Top up credit - online or at top-up stations on site.
- Pay - hold the wristband to the reader.
- Refund remaining credit - retrieve online after the festival.
Advantages: faster, safer, more flexible.
