Travel & Accomodation
There are numerous hotels, hostels, and camping options available in and around Ascona and Locarno. We recommend booking early as accommodations tend to fill up quickly, especially during the festival season.
We also offer convenient hotel packages.
Shuttle
There will be a shuttle service available from the train station of Locarno to the festival area in Ascona.
Parking
We will provide convenient parking options near the festival venue.

By Car
Driving to the festival is convenient and offers flexibility.
By Train
The nearest major train station is Locarno. From Locarno, you can easily reach Ascona by taking a local bus, taxi, or the SunIce Festival Shuttle service.
To make your return trip easier, we’ve organized an extra Night Train on Saturday, September 21st, departing from Locarno at 12:08 AM (00:08). This train will take you directly to Zürich, allowing you to head home early. Book your ticket here.
Please note that the train ticket is not included in the Festival Pass. However, we will soon offer a special SunIce Discount for SBB tickets.
By Plane
If you need to take the plane, here are the closest Airports to Ascona.
- Lugano-Agno Airport (LUG): Approximately 50 minutes (43 km) by car.
- Milan-Malpensa Airport (MXP): Approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes (120 km) by car.
- Milan-Linate Airport (LIN): Approximately 2 hours (140 km) by car.
- Zurich Airport (ZRH): Approximately 3 hours (220 km) by car.
Festival Experience
We will offer a wide selection of food and drinks. We will have our own food village and an additional exclusive food area for VIP guests.

Daybeds & Lounges are available here. These must be booked in advance, and a VIP ticket is required for the daybeds as they are located in the VIP Area.
